Upload and Share your First Deck with NextSlide
Overview
In this guide, we’ll walk you through uploading a presentation, generating presenter links, sharing those links, and finally, presenting live.
01 - Upload your deck
02 - Open your event page
03 - Get presenter links
Here you can grab links for:
- Presenters: Control the presentation, see active/next slide + notes
- Active Slide: Shows you the active slide, no control
- Next Slide: Shows you the next slide, no control*
- Notes: Shows you the active slide’s notes, no control*
You can also turn password protection for all links on or off, and you can delete and create new links if needed. Anyone using an old link will immediately lose access to the presentation.
Click the copy button beside the link, and email or text it to your presenters. They will all use the same link and password, and will share control.

04 - Presenter control
Presenters can use their phone as a clicker for convenience, but they also have the option to open the presenter view on a laptop, desktop, or tablet if they prefer a larger, more detailed interface.
This flexibility allows them to switch between different layouts depending on their device, and they can move slides forward or backward just like they would with a traditional clicker. However, they won’t have access to any of your other presentations, and they cannot download, replace, or delete the current one—ensuring that your content stays secure.
Because all presenters share control simultaneously, we strongly recommend doing a test run with your team ahead of the event. This will help everyone get comfortable with how things work and ensure smooth transitions between speakers. Remind presenters not to touch the controls until it’s their turn to avoid any unintentional slide changes.
When one presenter advances a slide, it will update for everyone watching the presentation in real time, ensuring a seamless experience for the audience.
05 - Audience screens
Option 1: Share from the event page
You can share your screen directly from the event page in Zoom, Teams, or any other platform, just as you would with a PowerPoint. To do this, go full screen from the event page, allowing you to control the presentation (moving slides forward or backward using the left/right arrows). Your presenters will still have control via their links, and you can mirror or screenshare this view to projectors or secondary displays.
Option 2: Share the active slide link on another device
Alternatively, you can grab the “active slide” link from the dropdown menu (where you found the presenter link). Open this link on a different device that’s connected to the screens, projectors, or signage.
This view won’t have slide control, but it will automatically stay in sync with the presentation as it progresses. You can mirror or screenshare this view as needed while you maintain control from the event view on your main device, with presenters still using their own links to control the slides.
06 - Confidence monitors
You can easily turn any device or screen into a custom confidence monitor that stays in perfect sync with your presentation.
These confidence monitors can display:
– Active Slide
– Next Slide
– Slide Notes
Simply choose the link you want from the same menu where you found the presenter link. Open it on a tablet, laptop, or another device, and switch to full screen mode. A tablet is especially useful for someone on stage, offering easy access to notes and more, without the need for a large monitor.
Whether you’re using a small device or connecting a computer to a traditional screen for a larger confidence monitor, NextSlide will keep everything perfectly in sync, ensuring you always have the right view.
